Effective September 1, 2011, M1/DTW Design Director Christian Unverzagt has been promoted to Assistant Professor of Practice in Architecture at the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. UM Faculty Bio.

We’ve moved! We still have some unpacking to do, but we kicked off 2011 with a move to a new studio in Detroit’s Elevator Building. That a small office like us receives media attention for a move across town seems strange, but strange is this town’s middle name. While working with an image file of one of our projects, it freaked out. And we thought the colors were already intense!

A lecture presented by Christian Unverzagt on April 13, 2010 as a part of the RougeHAA Regenerating Urbanism series. The talk includes professional, commissioned works, as well as student work from architecture students at Taubman College.
M1/DTW has worked with 6 salon for many years, designing nearly everything in their two salons. We’ve never made a video (well okay, a skateboarding documentary in high school that won a local cable televison award), so when they asked if we could, we said “absolutely.” (slow-motion alert: 00:52 and 10:12).
United is a speculative urban renewal proposal for a decommissioned skybridge linking two of Detroit’s most significant skyscrapers.
